Herd Relationships

It is so beautiful getting to watch horses' relationships as they interact in their herd. They show up authentically as themselves. They have ruptures in their relationships and repair just like we as humans do. The beauty of the work we do here at healing in rhythm is that every time we step into a round pen for a session with our equine team member they bring this ability to be in the moment and authentically react to what the human team members and clients are bringing to the session. One of the first things we often tell clients before they enter the round pen is that horses feel most safe when we show up as we are. So if we are nervous, angry or anything at all and try to be something else, this won’t feel safe for the horses to connect to. We can’t pretend with our equine team members, and they offer their nervous system for us and a willingness to enter into a real relationship if we show up as we are in the moment!
