Offering Choice

What does it look like to offer choice to people and animals? In our work we always tell clients as they enter the space with the horse to enter with the principle in mind that we are going to give both the horse and the client all the choices that are safe to them. How do we enter into relationships while thinking about the idea of giving people and animals as much choice as is safe without going to either extreme of control or compliance.
